We worked closely with PRADAN to deploy and develop the various stages of the GPOD
framework across 15 GPs over three years to strengthen Gram Panchayats and improve their
collaboration with Community Based Organisations. We saw impact across these project
geographies with GPs leveraging funds and collaborating with government departments for
irrigation infrastructure, accessing various inputs for landless and low income farmers.
We also witnessed GP’s spearheading initiatives to improve dropout rates in schools.

Anode is building the capacity of elected members across 15 GPs and supporting them in
implementation over a 3-year structured journey (GPOD Framework).
This will enable Gram Panchayats to be effective units of self-governance and optimise
their service delivery for citizens. In addition, we are facilitating effective
collaboration between Gram Panchayats and citizens, through our work with the local
community in the project areas.
Pilot of digitised Organisation Mapping Tool in two Panchayats of
Kolar and Tumkur Districts, Karnataka

Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR), Government of Karnataka
To explore the possibility of integrating Anode’s GP Organisation Mapping Tool with
Government of Karnataka’s revised online platform (Panchatantra 2.0), we collaborated
for pilots in 2 GPs of. This pilot helped us develop accessible content and an IT
platform for Gram Panchayats to self-assess the strengths and required improvements for
their institutions.
Programme Strategy Paper for Sightsavers to engage with PRIs For 8 States

Sightsavers has been working in India since 1966 to eliminate avoidable blindness and to
ensure support to people who are irreversibly blind. They focus on collaborating with
state governments to scale up operations for eye health, inclusive education and social
inclusion. In order to strategise about collaborations with Panchayati Raj Institutions
to scale up Sightsavers operations, Anode drafted a Programme Implementation Strategy
Paper.
This included analysis of PRI mandates related to Sightsavers focus areas across their 8 intervention states, toolkits and processes for field teams to capture relevant data as well as recommendations for bringing PRIs as principles of programme implementation.

To strengthen local democracy processes in Rajpur Block (Mission Antyodaya Block) in MP,
TRIF has collaborated with multiple partners including Anode. This project aims to
empower communities to ensure their demands are incorporated in their village
development plans, strengthen Gram Panchayats to deliver the community’s demands and
also improve collaboration of GPs with block and district governments.

Deoli, Seloo and Wardha Blocks, Wardha District, Maharashtra

KJBF has been working in the areas of sustainable agriculture, natural resource
management and livelihoods in Wardha district. In order to mainstream this work,
strengthen GPs and potentially leverage resources from different schemes KJBF, MS and
Anode have partnered to implement the GPOD framework in 15 GPs. At this stage, we are
conducting vision and mission workshops with GP members and citizens to identify their
broad goals.

We worked with Sulochana Thapar Foundation in 18 GPs, leveraging our experience to
mainstream and strengthen maternity and child health and nutrition through Gram
Panchayats.
